"Salzkirche"

The Chapel of St. Elizabeth Hospital, which should already have been established under Margrave John I (1220-1266), is first mentioned in 1456 in connection with the endowment (business equipment) of a new altar. Its use as royal granary and salt warehouse beginning of the 18th Century, brought her a popular name "salt church". Today it is a place for music, modern art exhibitions.
